A2 Media Evaluation QUESTION 3

Creating the News Report for my film trailer Don't Peek - which reveals the death of the first victim in the movie - was no easy task. In order to make it look realistic, I had to carry out a number of various tasks to create it...(click the image (below) and download the PDF file to see how I created it.)

DON'T PEEK Website Navigation Map IDEA

Plan for Home Page

This is a rough plan for my website homepage. The film title and tagline with appear in the top right hand corner of the page; the reason for this being that the audience always read from left to right and by placing the title and tagline on the right hand side, I feel it will have more impact here. In addition, since social networking is such a massive part of our lives now, I thought it was important to have links to some of the more popular social networking sites, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
I felt that having good reviews from big name companies would intrigue the audience to see the movie because they will see that these major companies have seen it and said that it is worth watching. I decided that this would be a flash element with the various company reviews alternating/fading in and out on a loop - this way it makes the page look more 'active' and doesn't clutter up the page too much.
I decided the poster should appear on website homepage (again on the right hand side so it has more impact) to show clear linkage between the website and the poster and this way the audience will know they are on the correct website. I thought it would be a good idea to carry on the theme of the book on my website too, so I designed my navigation bar in the form of a book shelf, with the various pages styled to look like books. When the audience member clicks on one of those books they will be transported to the page it says on the spine and once that page opens that book will disappear from the shelf, to create the impression that they are looking inside that book. When they click on another page, the book will reappear on the shelf, to create the impression that they have put it back up on the shelf.
There will also be a tense and eerie soundtrack playing quietly in the background, to give the website that creepy "horror" atmosphere. (They will have the option to mute it if they wish.)
